Cheap Stereo Pre

My mom teaches elementry school music needs a real cheap pre to run some mics into her Stereo receiver so she can record kids auditions or run a mic through the speakers in the room.

Any suggestions?  Really just needs couple inputs (XLR and/or 1/4")  and gain with RCA outs to run into the reciever.

the art boxes are pretty decent and usually can be had on the cheaper side.  check ebay
