how do i copy a DVD-A disc?
« on: February 08, 2004, 01:24:51 PM »
not looking like DVD XCopy will copy a DVD-A - and don't want to coaster a B&P'er's discs to try it with DVD Decrypter. Don't have discwelder - have DVD XCopy Xpress - i'll buy the platinum version if it'll definitely do it...

Has anyone successfully copied a DVD-A disc before? This is not a storebought DVDA - it's one from Smiley...  trying to fill my WSP NYE B&Ps...

The only DVD-A disc I have right now is a commercial Bob Marley release.   I used DVD Decrypter to extract and Nero to burn.  The disc plays fine.

Unless there is a better way I'm planning to use this combination for trading DVD-A. I imagine 1 of the Discwelder versions will do this as well.  For the time being I'm waiting until the Steel vs Bronze issues are ironed out before I buy.

kyle-you should be able to rip the AUDIO_TS folder onto your HD and then burn it and an empty VIDEO_TS folder as a data disc.  that should give you a working dvd-a.  i'd suggest trying it with one of your own first.

i didn't think it was possible to rip a dvd-a disc without discwelder software.  i'm gonna have to try the method mentioned tho and see what happens.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

Decrypter worked like a charm

Mode - > ISO Read to Read
Mode -> ISO Write to write
select the .MDS file, not the .ISO file when browsing for an image to write

DVDA > WAV, now THAT is a tough one. Impossible by design. but i was sure copying them wouldn't be impossible once i figured out how to do it.....
