Yup or this http://techflex.com/prod_F6N.asp
I have never used it and I am sure it would make the cable stiffer then normal texhflex. But, it is a way to wrap the cable without taking off the connectors.
Has anyone used the F6 type of Techflex? Curious about extra weight/bulk/stiffness versus the normal Techflex.
yes I used this on a real thin milspec cable I had, it definitely made the cable slightly stiffer and tougher to coil, but not a huge amount stiffer or anything. It did the job well, just make sure to melt the ends again after you cut the length you want. or else it may unravel slightly at the end. I would recommend getting the application tool,
here, unless you have very nimble fingers, because this stuff curls up pretty tight. I used the smallest diameter available and it fit my ~3mm cable very well. definitely weighs a bit more than normal techflex, but it looks pretty good otherwise.
