i grabbed the AT897 for my camcorder and was very happy with it.

retails around $350.  ebay had it for less.
open: mbho 603a (ka200n/ka500hn) > SD MP-2 > PCM-M10

there were two reviews for this that were not too good, and neither one of them recommended it.

Yea, but what do two reviews on a single website really mean?  It looked like both were the same person also.

I suspect if you wanted this for voice work it mighe be fine.  I assume it's a mono mic.  I suspect it would not be good for music.  You would need a high quality stereo mic or separate source altogether.

It's samples of some different mics.  There's samples of the MKE 300 on there which is probably similar to the 400.  It's the appropriate style mic for voice work.  How good it is is up to your ears to judge.

I like the old AKG C568EB. I don't know if the newer ones sound as good or not
