Title: advice needed with help between mics &recorder

have the rode nt4 mics >mt. i like to add something in between, would like some opinions on improving set-up

how much are you looking to spend?  A warm mod UA5 is always nice.

or a busman for, even less, would be a nice addition...

would like to say 3-400 or less would be great. also would like to stay as little added weight as possible. also not sure what a busman is

Chris Busman is a member here that has done some great mod's on select gear.  His BM2+ mod on the Edirol UA5 is top notch!  many people swear by them.  you can get a used digi mod UA5 for 150 or so and him mod it for about the same.  WELL worth it IMO.

for what it's worth I've seen stok UA5's go for as little as $75 on ebay but that is not quite the norm...

you can also get a used oade w-mod for that price point too.  Keep checking the yard sale daily.  The oade and busman mods come up all the time.
