Title: Core Sound Battery Box Voltage question.
Post by: beatkilla on October 02, 2011, 02:06:07 PM
I admit i know little about capacitors etc.But does this make any sense here.

I have the regular Core Sound Bbox for CSB's and i have the other(looks exactly the same)for Core Low Cost Binaurals.I asked Len what is the difference he said "the CSBs box is +9v and the Low cost -9volt.What is this?I want to run the Low Cost Bbox with the AT853's is it possible....Do not want to damage them.

CSBs use linkwitz modified capsules, so they require a positive ground. You don't want to use that battery box with anything other than the CSBs. The low-cost battery box would be negatively grounded and can probably be used with lots of other mics, but I don't know with regards to the ATs.
