Title: SD 788 and DR-100mkIII
Post by: dlh on May 22, 2021, 11:56:30 AM
I have a DR-100mkII and its digital input doesn't play nicely with the 788 digital output above 48K.
Does anyone know if the DR-100mkIII does any better with the 788?
I am little disappointed that the mkII has issues with the 788.  I had been using the mkII as a backup bit bucket with an Apogee MiniMe to a DR-680.
The SD788t SSD has replaced my MiniMe/Dr-680 combo.  I'm aware that the 788 records to SSD and CF simultaneously, but I'm a "belt and suspenders" kind of guy.
Weirdly, my Microtrack II works just fine with the SD788. :o
Thanks
Dave

I tried my Echo2 to a raspberrypi3 which has a hifiberry digi+.
This went digitalIN (44.1/88.2/176.4/192) in a dr100mk3 and worked fine; set samplerate on both sides and record (on the tascam).

Thanks.  That's a start. Apparently there is something about the 788 digital signal that the DR-100 doesn't like.  It worked perfectly at 96K with my MiniMe.
