First timer needs advice on LS-10 soundboard recording
« on: May 07, 2008, 03:21:01 PM »
I just got an Olympus LS-10 in the mail today and I am anxious to start testing it out at live concerts. Some friends of mine in a band are playing this weekend and have given me permission to tap into the soundboard. I had a few questions...

  • Do I need an XLR to 1/8 stereo cable or if it's "a really nice sound board" will the included line cable that came with the LS-10 with 1/8" connectors on each end work?
  • Should "REC MON" be set to on or off? If ON should I use the limiter?

If there is an opening band I will probably do a recording using the built in microphones with the recorder on a tri-pod so we can have some concert samples of what this thing can/can't do.
