Edirol R-09HR: Telephone Recording
« on: July 01, 2009, 09:52:06 AM »
Hi, all: I really appreciated all the responses to my initial newbie question recently.

Now I'd like to know: How could I use to record interviews on my device? I'd like to know because I'm assuming that it would produce better sound than my MacBook.

Please advise.

Thanks.

search for something like recording a cell phone conversation. this question has been asked before. look at the jk audio stuff.

Its all about how much you're willing to spend!
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

Anyone interested in telephone call recording really should invest 20~minutes of time checking out
http://static.slideshare.net/swf/ssplayer2.swf?doc=skype-for-interviews-1198388936660724-2
where the guys from the conversations network demonstrate broadcast quality recording with a properly configured skype set-up.

For portable use, I've used my R-09HR with Sound Professionals binaural mics in ear, and my cell phone to produce an adequate-for-taking-notes mono recording that could be cleaned up a little in post.

HTH :)
