Can I fix this with a compression plugin, and how?
« on: March 31, 2010, 12:42:08 PM »
I generally don't do too much EQ or compression (just a lot of iZotope cleanup) on files, but I ran into a big issue recently, and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a fix.  I found myself sitting pretty much right in front of the chorus, placed atypically right in with the audience, at a concert, no clipping because as soon as I saw where I was put I cut levels enough (just!).  The main orchestral stuff came out very nice, but of course the chorus is pretty much 6dB or so way too loud.   Is there any way I can herd them back into line?

I believe (though others are better at computer stuff than me) that you are correct - compression is your friend here.
