0 byte files on M10?
« on: April 23, 2014, 07:43:24 PM »
I have two files that were showing as 0 bytes, ran chkdsk /f to fix, here is what chkdsk says........now both are 704 bytes. Did I ruin any chance of recovery? I probably made some recordings after these files also. Looked around the site, I'm stumped.....

G:\>chkdsk
The type of the file system is FAT32.
The volume is in use by another process. Chkdsk
might report errors when no corruption is present.
Volume Serial Number is 9016-4EF8
Windows is verifying files and folders...
Windows found errors on the disk, but will not fix them
because disk checking was run without the /F (fix) parameter.
The \PRIVATE\SONY\HIFI\FOLDER01\131102_05.WAV entry contains a nonvalid link.

The size of the \PRIVATE\SONY\HIFI\FOLDER01\131102_01.WAV entry is not valid.
\PRIVATE\SONY\HIFI\FOLDER01\131102_01.WAV is cross-linked on allocation unit 106
.
Cross link resolved by copying.
File and folder verification is complete.

Windows has checked the file system and found problems.
Run CHKDSK with the /F (fix) option to correct these.

G:\>chkdsk /f
The type of the file system is FAT32.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process.  Chkdsk may run if this volume is dismounted first.
ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID.
Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N) y
Volume dismounted.  All opened handles to this volume are now invalid.
