I have one of these for the iphone and really like it, but I like the looks of this version (and it would be nice to have a non-iphone option moving forward)

I'm glad a thread was started. Thing this could be a nice travel mic that I could use with my S9+ ... wondering about real life experience... occasionally do video but mostly audio only is needed. I've always got my phone in my pocket....

Thanks for posting this.  A friend has the iPhone version and I've been interested in one of these for my Android for a while.

$249 may be a bit more than I want to pay for something like this, but if it ever goes on sale I might be very interested.

The only real downside is that it lacks gimbal stabilisation, so won’t be able to match the professional-looking smoothness and camera moves of something like the DJI Osmo Mobile 2.

I don't know what this reviewer was expecting.  The product is a microphone with a clip and tripod, yet he's comparing it do a gimbal system.  Are you f'ing kidding me?

That's pretty funny. Mentioned that several times and really didn't address the audio quality.

I'm with you, $250 is kinda steep. Maybe this thing will sell as well as the Sennheiser for GoPro and retailers will start shoving them out the door for $19.99 lol

I found one seller who has it a bit cheaper - $214 at the time of this posting:

Some questions:

Why would they not use USB-C at this point, and go with microUSB instead?

Why limit it to 24/48?  (This is plenty of resolution, but DAC chips that go way beyond this are pretty cheap now.  I am assuming this is a hardware / firmware limitation.)

Can we trust the integrated shockmount?  If I had one of these, I would put it in a Rycote shock.

No S/N ratio or self-noise figures are published.  Can anyone with the earlier iOS-only version speak on this?

That would be very interesting!  There aren't many such adapters out there.  Here is one, but it says:

This adapter does NOT support: OTG, neither video nor audio output.

It does say that it supports syncing and data transfer, though.  I wonder if the quote above is only referring to analog audio, which can be passed through USB.

Thanks for the link. I definitely wouldn't have caught that.

It sounds pretty good for a phone setup. Once you manage expectations, I think it's fair to be pretty pleased with the sound this thing brings in.

A guy had one the other night at Mike Gordon and let me play around with it. The UI was pretty cool and you could adjust the pickup angles and m/s width.

This is a recording with the iphone mv88 - not sure how different it is than this MV88 plus, at least from a sound standpoint.

I've made several Mv88 recordings, especially lately as I was waiting for new DPA's to arrive. But I think you can get a decent feel for their sound - some better than others, but in general I think they're pretty listenable.

The kikagako moyo recording is probably the best of the bunch, the Bobby show probably the worst.
