Matrix using a ua5 with digi in and mics
« on: June 08, 2004, 03:50:14 PM »
hey all probably been mentioned before but can a digi mod ua5 make a matrix with say a coax feed from a mini-me and mics coming into the front of the ua5? I just dont know if you could mix digital and analog sources at once.

I don't *think* so, but am not sure.
I know you have to choose digi or analog on the front panel as a record source, so I imagine that if you're running mics the digi in is gonna be disabled.

Any particular reason you wouldn't just feed the UA5 the analog signal?

4 mic mix
???  4 mic mix doesn't REQUIRE digi-in on the UA5...  Run the analog out from the min-me into the RCA input on the back of the UA5 and your other pair of mics nto the front - viola, 4 mic mix!

from my experience the UA5 will NOT pass a digital input signal into digital out.  So the only way to do a matrix is using the analog inputs.

If you want to do a four mic mix you have to use the analog inputs.
