perfect AES/EBU to sp/dif coaxial right here:
« on: November 22, 2004, 12:08:07 PM »
Just got my markertek package and this is the ideal AES/EBU to SP/DIF set up:

2 items:

1. Canare BCJ-XJ-TRA impedance tranformer $25.83:
(image slightly differs from product I bought; TRB instead of TRA)

2. RCA female to BND male adaptor $1.99:

The RCA to BNC clips perfectly onto the tranformer, giving you RCA out of instead of BNC. This allows you to just use existing coaxial cables to come out of the transformer. No need to make BNC to RCA cables with this set-up. Your getting the proper voltage changes! Handles 24 or 16 bit signals perfectly. Not too bad!

Cool +T for finding what you need...I've played w/ the idea of changing my rcas to bncs cause they lock and won't come undone in the bag.  Except for me, that xfmr won't work cause I don't want it being a leverage point out of the MME.  So I'm going the resistive network in the XLR.

Right on! I'm actually using this mostly for coming out AES of my MOTU 896's while mixing down. This was I don't have to go analog or use my VX Pocket which gets bogged down when CPU usage is high. Now once I am done mixing I can do a nice digital dump. I don't always (or ever really) trust a bounce to disk in the box. Now I know I'm getting a nice digi transfer.

Why did I wait so long?
