coax connector
« on: July 26, 2005, 03:09:05 PM »
I'm trying to connect two coax cables, but each have a male end.  I couldn't find my little barrel connector, so I picked up a rca->rca connector. It fits well enough, but will it pass a signal?  If so, will it be inferior to the barrel?  Thanks in advance.

by "rca->rca connector" do you mean a cable with female rca>female rca?

If the cable is not a 75 ohm cable (i.e. for digital transmission or for video tv transmission), it's not properly spec'ed for passing a digital signal and _could_ cause a problem.

Simple solution is to pick up a new barrel connector, radio shack sells these.
