I buy an Apogee mini-me!
« on: June 12, 2010, 02:22:09 AM »
Hi all.
First i'm apologize my poor english. I'm from brazil.
I'm work with sound for cinema, and i bought a Tascam DR-680 that not arrived yet. I'm think use Schoeps 641>Apogee mini-me>DR-680.
First question is: is Dr-680 pre, as good as apogee mini-me? Its really necessary to buy Mini-me if i have a DR-680( NOTE: i need a good battery live time with phantom power).
Second: its easy to find some good used Mini-ME here? Anyone have one? How much is?
Thanks and Sorry about my english.

the apogee mini-me as a decent pre. not as well regarded as its analog>digital conversion. Not sure how it compares to the pre section in the 680. I would look for one in the Yard Sale section of this website.

The Tascam preamps have gotten great reviews and I think they are above average quality.  I would try it without an mini-me ifrst.  You can always buy one at a later date if you still want to add one.
