Title: DYI Batt box?
Post by: Aladar on October 27, 2009, 01:41:41 PM
Hi!
I just wanted to ask how difficult would it be to make a DYI battery box? I know people that are pretty good with soldering and other electronics stuff, and they would be able to build it for me - however, I don't know how to do it..

So, does anyone here have a soldering schematics for DYI battery box? Also, is it even possible to do one at home, without frying the mics when I plug it in?:) Thanks!

edit: maybe i should specify that I want just a simple battery box, no bass roll-off or anything like that

What microphone is to be used? In its simpliest form you just need a battery and a capacitor.

It's not decided completely yet - Either CA-11's, CAFS omnis or similar.

Church Audio? I think Chris will give details on a suitable batterybox.

Here is a wiring diagram for BB.

Gathering bits and pieces for a battery box between AT853 > BB > Denecke AD-20

Question
What type and wattage Resistors?
22K Ohm 1/2 Watt Carbon Film Resistors
22k Ohm 1W 5% Carbon Film
22k ohm 2 watt 5% metal oxide power resistors

I have some male Mini XLR's Chassis connectors the AT853 will connect to and thinking about just hard wiring the XLR's from BB to AD-20.

Can someone help me with pin out for the XLR's? This is the circuit I'll follow:

Many Thanks in advance.

I use 25 watt resistors in my battery box :)

I use 25 watt resistors in my battery box :)

I use 10 60W light bulbs in series  ;D

Actually, hmmm, flashlight bulb battery box . . . need about 100 of them though . . .

Only 10 60w bulbs? Thats crazy my new battery box will have a 1k halogen.. It will run on 600v 3 phase power. Might be a problem for stealth us but it could be made to look like a stage light :)
