Title: Help Identifying schoeps or off brand bars
Post by: twoodruff on December 04, 2017, 01:52:22 PM
I have two bars here, no mics to see any angles or what not,  my feeling is they are DINA and ORTF. Does some one have the time for me to send then to them to see what they are and if they needs them they can purchase or I will list them for sale in the proper forum. Thanks for your time.

I'm not it need of them....  but the flat "faces" of the DINA bar should be a 90* angle and the ORTF bar should be a 110* angle.
They are probably the same length, so you need to look at the angles to figure it out.

Just take anything in the house thats square and see if one of the corners lines up with where the mics would mounted to see if it's 90*.  A piece of paper is easy since you can adjust where the fold is to line up with the spacing on the bar.  You can search for what a 110* angle looks like online and just hold the bar up to the screen.

Then just take a ruler or measuring tape and eyeball about an inch or so off the bar to estimate where the diaphragm would be to get a rough estimate of the spacing.
