another nero problem...
« on: June 28, 2005, 04:36:44 PM »
i've searched and didn't see anything that would help me with my problem so sorry if its already been covered.

Last friday i was in a hurry to head north and just bought some cheap memorex cdrs so i could listen to some new stuff during the trip.  well i burned 2 cds successfully then on the third cd nero locked up half way thru the burn.  i had to force it to shut down in the task manager.  i then restarted it, only when i clicked on nero xpress under smart start, it wouldn't load.  so i tried the normal program...and it loaded, very slowly.  now i'm at the point where if i click on something the program freezes up for several minutes with the little (not responding) error on the top.

i've updated it to the latest version and even uninstalled and reinstalled and still no luck.  any suggestions?

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

go to run , type in MSCONFIG and then under services, uncheck IMAPI, (windows burning app)

I had the same problem. Apparently windows xp apps clash with nero , so i disabled the windows imapi

thanks for the tip ray.  i actually just unplugged the ide to my burner then restarted and then shut down and plugged the burner back in and restarted again.  got different media and it worked fine.

note to everyone: DON'T EVER BUY CHEAP MEDIA!
