Difference between DPA 4052 and 4036?
« on: June 27, 2005, 08:42:45 PM »
SSIA, the connector cable looks a little bigger on the 4036. They look basically the same to me besides that though, I really don't even know why they offer the two different types. Any ideas?

J-disc with some of these compact DPA omnis is really tempting me these days.     :hmmm:

Wish these suckers weren't so pricey...

4036:

The extremely linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 40 kHz (±2 dB) and a SPL handling capability of 144 dB SPL peak before clipping occurs makes the Type 4036 a professional choice in close miking situations with percussion, saxes, horns or grand piano.

4052:
The linear on-axis frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz (±2 dB) together with the ultra-small design makes Type 4052 the perfect choice for all kinds of on-camera or on-stage use where high definition audio is of high priority. These Compact Omnis are extremely popular as A-B Stereo pairs in concert halls where the beautiful architecture has to go hand in hand with quality recordings.

looks like the 4036 goes up to 40khz and the 52 only goes to 20khz...

Please dither and resample as you see fit!
