if they sound Good I will maybe pick some up later. I am very fortunate to have a good relationsship with MG. Next up is the um900 pair which is built entirely by hand, it takes each little piece of that mic an entire day to assemble. They only make about 2 a month.

mmmm, the um900 are the mics i dream about woning, or is it the umt900? it has 5 selectable polar patterns and is a 'slim' LD like the tls's :)

the tubes are AC only ehh ray ???

the tubes are AC only ehh ray ???
the one above isnt , but the one i have in my possesion is ac only yes.
the SWEET one above is 48v phantom power.
-
the tubes are AC only ehh ray ???
The heart of the Gefell UM900 is a miniature 'hearing-aid' audio tube and its unique phantom powering system. Using proprietary circuitry, an internal switching power supply generates voltages for the tube's plate and filament as well as the capsule polarizing voltage. Unlike traditional tube microphones, the UM900 Phantom does not require an external power supply box or multi-pair cable. At less than 4-milliamp draw, all that is required is the typical 48V phantom from any console or pre-amp. The clear advantage of 48V phantom powering is freedom.

well, according to this wouldnt they be DC powered via 48volt phantom ???
sweet mics man!

exactly. the tubes in my possesion now(um 92.1s) can only be powered with AC though.

In my opinion, I'd like to hear some of your tapes, but not mixed or matrixed. just the straight recording with those sweet MG's. I think that will give us a better idea of what they sound like. of course, you're free to do whatever, and if you think mixing sources sounds better in the end, well, I'll be happy to get whatever you're willing to give.
have fun with those. :)
