I have a JB3 on the way, I have all the bases covered on this thing and am desperately awaiting my new toy.
I have come up with a question though...How is everyone that is using this thing powering it?
I know it has some pretty decent onboard batteries, but can you use the ac plug just like everything else? or do you have to use the battery that comes with it ?
Thanks in advance for all the great help and the great forum!!

its really tempermental about sla packs... id suggest just getting another internal battery.

Thanks for the info johnny!

Hey johnny
Have you tried some of the rc car packs with the higher amperage rating to see if the nomad likes them any better?

i havent, though reports have said that its very very picky, everyone ive talked to has said just get extra batteries of theirs.

Definately picky- it will only take between 5.48 and 4.8 volts input to the nominal 5v. Also, any time you change the ground reference on the thing (i.e. plug in an SLA) it will most likely crash and lose any unsaved data.
It will run for a while on 2 internals, but you'd need an extra one or two for a longer run.
