Ive been trying to listen to recordings from different sources and i keep seeing fob recordings that list dfc.  is dfc a configuration?  ive searched with no luck.  could someone point me to a link that explains it?  thanks!

you might also encounter ROC (Right of Center) and LOC (Left of Center) and BTP (Back to Paul -- another way of saying FOB).  Good luck deciphering all our garbage.

Anyone ever notice how some tapers are *very* generous when describing their recording location as DFC?  I've seen people describe their location as DFC when they're 20' off-center in a medium sized venue!

You could also, in a similar vein, sorta "debunk" DFC as being a meaningful attribute as sometimes in smaller venues the sweet spot is not "on center".

image center is not necessarily dfc in any situation. it's probably a good starting point but you should walk the room a bit to find the true image center...

Also good feedback, though the image center for the opening band won't necessarily be the image center for the headliner, or for the following night's shows, etc.  At least not in my experience.
