stage stands
« on: November 25, 2003, 11:07:59 AM »
I am looking to pick up somewhere in the neighbor hood of three or four of them to spread over the stage to do some multi track work with my mics and matt's akg's.  I would prefer the heavier variety, and as always, trying to do this type of thing as cheaply as possible.

D, if you find a good source, please post for us. I'm looking for a table/stage stand to use at jazz clubs and other venues where I need a tiny footprint.
Out of the game … for now?

I've had good luck using one of the kick drum stands that GC has. Around fifteen dollars I believe. Nice heavy base as well as a very small footprint. Includes a boom as well which is nice if you need to move the mics in farther but not the stand. Another nice feature is that you can add a longer boom arm onto it in case you need to run from a balcony.

d i have 2 that we can use.  one black one crome.  just go into any guitar shop and look around, they have ones with heavy bases, or ones on tripod bases, thats what i have, since i've had bad luck with the heavy round bases, they seem to fall over easier.  but just go check guitar stores, i know a friend that works in one in iowa city, if you want, maybe we can go, and see if he'd hook us up.  peace.
