anyone used this mic before? all my tapes have come out too hot and loud...is there anyway to tame this beast? maybe its just my MD.

i use a headphone volume control with this mic.

i think the mic itself overloads moreso than your md(tho it may brickwall the md too). i dont think that an attenuator cable will work because i believe it blocks the plug-in power that the mic requires.

i dont mind this mic for an ultra budget stealth setup.

I have used this mic with my Sony MZ-N10 md recorder for a year now with excellent results.I have used it with the mic-in setting and the gain set at 9 for louder concerts.Now,I have a jb3 and have tried to use this mic with a battery box and I am having the same problem,overcooking at the mic.I have not tried the mic-battery box-md combo yet thru the line in jack.

Definitely go with the line in, mic in recordings can sound pretty noisy, especially through the jb3 if it picks up the HD spinning.
