SDHC Class 4 vs HD Camcorder

Is SDHC class4 cards are really enough for AVCHD 1920x1080 25fps @ 17MBps VBR + 256kbps AC3 audio recording camera? I have a Panasonic HDC-SD40, and the camcorder's manual says Class 4 card is enough.
What's your opinions?
