Info File (text file) template

(1/1)

Brian Skalinder:
FWIW, I thought I'd post my info file template in case others wish to use it.  Yeah, the NOTICE box is big and it's probably overkill, but I feel it's important to at least attempt to communicate all the NOTICE information to downloaders / listeners.  Besides, they can (and probably will) scroll past it if they'd rather not read it.  But at least it's there.

Here's the most recent version.  Updated 2005-10-28.  Notes:

[*]Two listings, one for 24-bit, another for 16-bit.
[*]While the info file provides detailed information to listeners and fellow tapers, its primary purpose is as a reference for me.
[*]The fade tracks in the 16-bit version represent non-destructive fades.
[*]I've listed the recording info in roughly linear manner, from the recording, through to tracking and completion.  This just makes sense to me.
[*]I also list both the record format and final format since I've seen plenty of info files which are unclear (to me, anyway) about whether they're actually 24-bit, 16-bit dithered/resampled from 24-bit, or native 16-bit.[/list]
