I've read that the Maha Powerex 9.6V/230mAh has been used successfully with CA-9100 and CA-UGLY:

But since the Maha 220V charger is expensive and hard to find over here, I'm shopping for alternatives.
This is what I've found so far:
Kingman Spyder 9.6V/170mAh (but no standalone charger manufactured :-\)

Vapex/Vapextech 9.6V/220mAh

DLG LiFePO4 9.6V/220mAh

Did anyone here try these?
The DLG model looks intriguing, because it uses a new kind of rechargeable Lithium instead of NiMH. I don't know if the discharge curve is better or worse than the Maha Powerex, but I'll probably jump the gun on the DLG just to compare!

I thought I'd post a status update.
I've now been using the DLG 9.6V battery for a year, and it's been performing well, after priming it in.
I just went to a festival and ran it about 5 hours in my CA-9100. At the end of the night, the battery still had enough charge.

Thanks I'll look deeper into these.
After almost exactly 2 years of pretty constant use, my 9.6V Maha Powerex batteries are now failing and must be replaced, either with new ones or something else.
BTW, the Maha 9.6V charger for these runs off 12VDC, and can be fed by any wall wart, cig-lighter adaptor, or whatever, that outputs 12VDC (with enough current and the right plug of course). That was a big factor for me. I think the wall wart that came with mine from Thomas Distributing works on either 110 or 220VAC and was only like $3 more but I'd need to confirm that.
