i just want to give you huge props and +t for mentioning noiseware in another thread! I bought and downloaded the pro standalone version and must say, that it works wonders. I had no idea the difference it could make. Was out last night with my 20d and my 70-200L f/2.8 for it's maiden concert voyage. Lowlight caused me to have to bump the iso to 1600 to get proper handhold speeds (well not quite proper but I had a rest, time for a monopod). Anyways, pics were to noisy for my tastes though the underlying images were nice. I bought the noiseware as a whim to see if it made that much difference. Best 49 bucks I've spent in awhile! Totally transformed my images. I'm at work now but when I get home, I'm going to continue processing the images (I've got about 3.5 gigs worth to convert from raw>tiff>noiseware>photoshop) and then I'll post a few. Hopefully tomorrow I'll put some up.
The 70-200 is a BEAST in the field but well worth it on the end results from just a few days of playing around with it. Me likey!
Do you use actions? I usually do all my color correction etc and render the images out to a directory as Tiff or real HQ jpegs. Then just write an action that applies the Noiseware filter and saves the image again. Then in Photoshop go to File, Automate, Batch, point it at the directory and walk away.
Noiseware is amazing. I used to really avoid bumping the ISO and constantly fought motion blur, with Noiseware I just don't worry about the noise, overall sharpness is much more important, I let Noiseware take care of the noise.
Now if they would just write a audio plugin........
