Title: Why can't I install FLAC?
Post by: Stumptown Matt on November 13, 2005, 12:03:09 PM
When I download the FLAC program I get the following error message.

"NSIS Error

The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.  This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.  It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (Not Recommended)"

I am using XP Pro.  I have read that sometimes some antivirus software recognizes FLAC as a "Trojan Horse" but I don't understand the fix.  Also I'm a bit of a computer moron so I have no idea what the /NCRC command line switch is.  Any help would be great.

is there an 'ignore' button or something?

maybe try disabling your anti-virus and try again

No ignore button and I tried disabling the antivirus software. No dice.

Different version of FLAC?  Where can I find one?  There only seems to be one version for windows on their website.

If you are running a WINXP box then just google for flac installer and use the FLAC FrontEnd GUI.

Try Here: http://cyberial.com/flacinstaller.asp (http://cyberial.com/flacinstaller.asp)
