DPA 4022's DIN, DINa, NOS
« on: January 09, 2009, 03:56:56 PM »
Does anyone make a bar for these configurations with the 4022's?  Primarily looking for DIN or DINa.

I wonder if the Schoeps SGC Clips are small enough for the DPA's??

Anyone know the difference in diamiter between scheops capsules and 4022's??

Interesting.

The 4022's are 19mm, the Schoeps are 20mm and Neumanns 21mm in diameter.

I've been designing an adjustable DPA mount (I run 4021s) during my downtime at work. I think it will be able to do anything except coincident patterns (like XY). Since I haven't had much downtime, I haven't gotten too far. I have a design in CAD, a CNC program written and raw material at my desk. But I've been way busy since the holidays and so has the shop floor, so I'm not likely to get machine time in the immediate future. I'll post pictures once I get my first prototype made.
Out of the game … for now?

One thing to watch out for is that shock mounts typically isolate poorly when overloaded.  Most shock mounts are designed and tuned for a specific mass.

If you mean spl overload at 145spl I never overloaded the dpa's and felt that close micing is where they really shine.

I read it that way at first, but I think Freelunch meant 'overloaded' by weight.

So I ended up using my Schoeps SG 20 mic clips 20mm diamiter with the 4022's 19mm diamiter.

I placed a small section of gaff tape over the rear end of the 4022 to make the 4022's fit in the SG 20 Clips.  This gives me the ability to run DIN, DINa or ORTF with ease.

Two 4022's
Two SG 20 Schoeps clips
One A20S Schoeps Shockmount.

although, technically speaking, you need to have hypers to run DINa.
