VERY interesting! Great idea, but I can see it now, Mic96>iPhone sources all over the place :P ;D 8) Who knows tho, maybe Im wrong and it will sound great, and maybe because its a size factor, but anything mic>iPhone doesnt sound too good to me. But, as always, YMMV ;) Hey if it starts a new taper out and he/she starts lovin the craft of taping, he/she will start to search out a more stable/higher quality setup, and as all of you know, there arent as many tapers these days, which makes no sense to me, because HQ gear is more affordable than its EVER been ??? So this could be either ALL bad or ALL good :)

Yeah- doesn't sound like it would be very useful to experienced tapers who already have a small dedicated recorder and much smaller stereo mics that probably sound better.

My impression is that all this iphone recording stuff is designed to hook iphone owners that would not buy dedicated taping equipment.

I think the real market for this mic is folks looking to do podcasts with their iOS (iphone-ipad) gear.  There are some good apps for recording/editing for podcasters, and combined with decent mic's you can have a small portable broadcast studio.
