Facebook music streaming ends oct 1! (title edited sep 14)

https://dancingastronaut.com/2020/09/facebook-reveals-new-rules-to-limit-streamed-events/
new terms sound like they won't be hosting ANY music videos which means that anything up there now will come down?!??
quote (bold mine):

You may not use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience
We want you to be able to enjoy videos posted by family and friends. However, if you use videos on our Products to create a music listening experience for yourself or for others, your videos will be blocked and your page, profile or group may be deleted. This includes Live.

edit sept 14 to remove this from title:  I assume all music videos will be pulled!

Wow. Seems so odd they wish to kill off so much ad revenue. Think they are running into copyright issues with ASCAP and BMI?
music IS love

When you get confused, listen to the music play!

Facebook guidelines do have the verbiage the recent article pointed out

https://www.facebook.com/legal/music_guidelines

But apparently the guidelines have said the same thing for years

What ads? Promoted posts? I don't see any ads on any stream there ever. Thus, I think it's not a profit center for them.
Yes I think that rights holders want control or at least tracking of recorded music but I don't give a care about that.
I don't need facebook to provide album rips for me. Youpuke has plenty of that.

This FB page doesn't really clarify the oct 1 change at all.

AH second link is somewhat more helpful. Perhaps the change mostly applies to folks doing DJ streams and listening parties.

"If you post content that contains music owned by someone else, your content may be blocked, or may be reviewed by the applicable rights owner and removed if your use of that music is not properly authorized."

the link without any description contains these words:

the music guidelines have been in place for some time and will not affect artists using the site to livestream gigs or share their music.

These changes don’t impact live streaming musical performances that you people care about.

They just need to open a Youtube account and then post the link to Facebook.  Nothing new, for many bands already do that.  It's in the Groups where things get a little sloppy.  So Facebook is reacting to that issue.

I just started working the broadcast mix on a FB livestream show that's in it's 3rd season.  Just got picked up by local NPR, and about to start hitting multiple other livestream platforms as well.  No sense of concern about this at all.
