Took a quick look around to see if this had been touched on yet, if so I wasn't able to find it.
Anyways, has anyone heard the "HD FLAC" files from 8 yet? Worth the $$$???

I think they sound great. A big improvement over the summer sbd releases.
-
I just have the 16 bit source (never did get a response from livephish) and am only now getting a chance to listen on the home system. Very nice sound. Definitely improved on summer tour, great detail, seems to be a decent stereo image for a livephish as well.

IMO they nailed the weekend, both in performance and recording.
-
I remember being underwhelmed with Friday and a bit worried about the rest of the weekend after that show. Listening back now to the first set and it's pretty solid. Not great but a very solid opening to the weekend.

It would be great if someone who purchased the 24 bit files could take a screen shot of the waveform. Same for someone who purchased the 16 bit files.
I know that there might be more to the 24 vs. 16 debate than *just* dynamic range, but it would be cool if Phish had consciously taken advantage of the headroom.

has anyone even DL the 24 bit files?
-
I got the 24 bit recordings from each night. They sound great to me.
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but here is a screenshot from Jiboo in Sound Forge.
I can get other info if you let me know what you're looking for.

so are they 24/96 mike?
