Has anyone had success with the Transcend 8gb SDHC card (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820208293) and the R-09 after updating their firmware to version 1.3?  I believe this card was listed as compatible on a compatibility chart that I had found, but I was wondering if any of you had first hand experience with this particular card.

Thanks in advance for any advice / info!
Chrissy

i use the transcend 8gb SDHC card without issue.

i should also say that the only bad transcend cards i've attempted to use were not SDHC cards.  the 4gb cards that used the SD standard won't work in the r09, but SDHC = no problem here.

Hmm... oddly enough I use the 4gb SD cards (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16820163159) now.  Weird, even though I bought them 2 years ago, they are still more expensive than the 8gb SDHC card that I just bought.

Are you saying that the 4gb SD cards will no longer work once I update to the latest (1.3) firmware?  Or that you never had success with those cards?  The R-09 registers errors every now and then when I use the 4gb cards, but the file headers usually just need to be tweaked in order to get the corrupted files to be recognized as wav files.  I usually don't have any problems with the 4gb cards though.

With that said, I bought the 4gb cards before I knew about SDHC.  At this point, I'm looking to use the 8gb SDHC card and take advantage of the seamless splitting introduced with the firmware update.  I won't have to worry about switching cards (or the R-09's flimsy battery / card door) in stealth situations anymore. Glad to hear the 8gb card works for you. :)

personally, I just find transcend to be of lower quality than Kingston, and only can determine this for the fact that i have had many bad transcends.

Now HC might be up for debate if it is better than regular SD for music recording, I think there is more of a difference with photo.

I'm also using the Transcend 8gb SDHC card without problems.  Wonder if the 16gb is supported, not that I need that much space.
