Should work fine for a time depending on battery capacity, but no way to tell if taking the battery down too far by deck's battery gage when using this type of battery.

D3 DAT deck draws just a bit over half ampere when recording, so if external battery does not have its own gage, make note of its capacity so as not to use it for too long where battery gets over exhausted to not be reliable anymore.

Thanks Guy!

It worked!!!

I took a chance on $25 D3 -  "Buy It Now" on ebay...

Playing an old DAT now - so far, so good.

The Wal Mart Battery has a guage - I'll keep an eye on it..

Worked great last night...

Show was only an hour and half...started on three green...after rewinding and playing back a little, I'm down to one green...

- but - this battery wasnt fully charged - and the charge it had was at least 6 months old...
