Title: m-audio firewire 1814 vs. edirol fa-101
Post by: Tyler McGhee on August 17, 2004, 01:00:49 AM
anyone know how these two compare? has anyone run
the firewire 1814?  One of the things i notice right
off the bat is two level meters. that's a huge plus.

i'm really trying to find a box that has muti-tracking capabilities (although
i'd use it for two tracks most of the time)

any info appreciated!

My guess is that it's the same pre as the 410.

Let's bring this one back up, as I'm going to get an opportunity to play around with an 1814 for a while. I'm interested in recording discreet 24/96 tracks from multiple sources and then mixing them post production. I wouldn't have the access all the time to do this; so I'm trying to minimize expense. Also, the portability thing is a big issue: don't want to be hauling a rack onboard an airplane; so this looks like it might be a cool deal.
