Title: NJB3 Bags and Formatting
Post by: Credoors on January 29, 2004, 09:29:20 PM
hey there,

is there a carrying bag that works well with a njb3, batt box, and mics?  considering my rig is small it doesnt have to be that big, just big enough for everything above and some cables, tape, etc.  also, i have seen talk about "formatting" files as opposed to deleting them...not really sure what this means so any help would be appreciated...

thanks!

peace,
danny

what kind of mics?

check the archival section for some bag suggestions and glance through the rig pics, I'm sure you'll think of something!

I've seen that people do this to stabiliz their unit?......

Not sure, I'd PM Skalinder...

if he doesn't answer right away, don't be shy... just keep hammering away on that inbox!

I'm using an old camera bag that's about the right size. I also have the super light weight Case Logic portable CD case, but the PS-2 makes that too small.

A third bag I have is a Crumpler camera bag which is nice but a little big since I don't currentlyhave any full bodied mics.

Oh, and formatting wipes the whole hard drive, not just selected files. It's a sure way to clean up your JB3, but make sure all your music is backed up elsewhere. Backing up, formatting, and restoring is how you defrag a JB3.

The nj3 fits nicely in a portable cd case. Toss that in your backpack

one last question...when formatting the njb3...will that delete the firmware as well?

thanks!

You dont need to reformat the drive that much if you delete all the files. Its more important to have a clean drive then to reformat

i go with reformat, it cleans everything off the drive in one quick painless process.  just deleting the files can leave little chunks on the drive here and there.  formatting gets rid of everything all at once.
