Topic: Mod to JB3 input

I've read dkien's way of moding the input of the JB3 with a dremel tool, but has anyone found anything else that works well that doesnt involve removing material from the JB3 hardshell?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm just wondering if there are any other options before I go ahead and do this mod myself.

Well, the dremmel's the cleanest way of doing it.  I ran into this problem before David posted about the issue.  I just used a pocket knife and wittled away at the plastic until the cable fit snugly.  Of course, I had just bought a new cable for patching on my way to a show, so I didn't really have much time to come up with an "elegant" solution.

You could always find a short patch cable that fits fine without having to remove some of the plastic, and always use that plugged into the JB3.  Even just a short female->male connector would work, though I've never seen one for 1/8" miniplug.  Other than that, I don't see any way around this.

If you can get a patch cable with black Neutrik miniplug connectors, they are narrow enough that you don't need to do this. I have one that came with some gear, so I don't know where to get it on it's own but I'm sure they are out there.

unfortunately the hardshell is the problem.  You can find a plug that fits but most don't.  Go ahead - do a little damage!  It's one way of making it yours.    Seriously - you'd never even notice it unless I pointed it out.

Dklein, thanks for posting the how-to link. Like you said, your way looks nice and clean.  My warranty is up in 2 weeks anyway.
