My microphone requires 4v-9v. The device that I have iriver h120 has a 3v battery so I believe that if I don't use a battery box, the plug in play will give me 3v.
I have a battery box which supplies 1v. If I connect my mic to the battery box, which is then hooked up to my iriverh120... will my total voltage be 4v?
Does it combine it or will I only get 1v cause of the battery box?

The fact that it has a 3 volt battery does not mean it provides 3 volts to the mics. I think the iHP provides more than 3 volts but less than 4. Someone else here will probably know.

No-line in it will provide 1 volt. Mic in, who knows. You are not supposed to combine plug in power from 2 devices, but it sometimes seems to work OK in practice (if the voltage is high enough).
What kind of battery box provides 1 volt, Sonic Studios? It should not be used with any of the mics we use that are normally run with a recorder's plug in power or a 9 volt battery box.
