« on: November 29, 2006, 06:30:40 PM »
Are the SPDIF, AES1 and AES2 outs all active simultaneously?

Jamie says yes, and if you have the optimod you have 4 digi outs at the same time, along with the analog outs.

Yup, this is true - I've even used them all simultaneously.

IIRC from previous discussions with Jamie, the coax and AES1 (and optical, if you have it) outputs are tied to the same transmitter, and the AES2 output has its own transmitter.

Does using all four digi outputs use up the battery faster?

I was thinking of using the extra AES out for monitoring in the field using an exernal AD converter.

From what I have read in the manual the s/pdif and aes 1 output have the abillity to output consumer digital and professional digital format signals depending on the jumper setting. and the aes 2 only does professional format.

S/PDIF or AES3 are the formats.

It appears in the diagram in the manual that the V3 comes stock sending Consumer S/PDIF format out of the S/PDIF and AES1 output and professional AES3 out of the AES 2 output.

Interesting.  I just got this thing and after reading the manual Im pretty damn impressed with the options of the Jumper settings and how this thing was built.
