I've just done some research on stealthable recorders and it seems the microtrack will need an external battery for safe recording. There are USB powerpacks for under $20 that take AA batteries, such as one I just saw at target that powers USB cellphones. As for large files, someone told me the microtrack will start a new file at 2gigs, and there WILL be about a 5 second loss between files (so not seemless). But it also tells you how much time you have left so you can plan on stopping and restarting at an opportune moment..... too much hassle for me to worry about though (I'm coming from a HiMD recorder and I don't want anything that even slightly resembles flipping discs).
