now while i listen to flac's in my vehicle, i am looking for a small non-cd player type device to listen to music when i go to the gym or on the airplane, etc. are ipods the best for this? are they the only devices that have 10-40gigage? is anyone using any of these types of devices? i know that the ipod also stores wav files. i dont care to get into the mp3 bashing thread, just looking for a portable player. thanks!

I have the original 10 gig iPod and I love it. Not sure anything can compete with it on size/usability. Only downside is that it is rather expensive...

the ipod rocks....I have it wired into my car stereo....one of the greatest toys from the last 10 years

Why not get a jb3 and use it for taping if you wanted to as well!

jb3's headphone amp sucks, not sure about the competition...

the ipod headphone amp is actually one of its better features. I run a mini out to a rca ins for my car deck and it sounds freaking great....
