Title: T-bar and Clamp Recommendations?
Post by: dave570 on June 26, 2009, 01:25:03 PM
Hi,
Got 2 questions.

1. What t-bar for 2 mics is most popular here and reasonably priced?
2. If I want to clamp onto someone else's mic stand, what is a good clamp to buy?

Thanks!

I like my windtech type C clamp. Only like $15 and it works like a charm.

it what type of applications you will be using the clamp for and secondly, are you using large or small diaphragm mics?

I have Nak 300s.

Applications?  I will either be using my own mic stand or clamping onto someone else's mic stand to save floor space.

Superclamp. Very versatile.

then I think a windtech clamp will be the way to go. a superclamp is overkill for just clamping to a mic stand.

I was just thinking he'd be able to use it for that and others applications that would probably come up later..better one clamp than 3 or 4.

Buy both. You'll eventually find a need for them both.

Superclamp for railings and such, the Windtech for clamping to a stand. The superclamp is way too heavy, IMO, for clamping to a stand. Especially if it's a mic tree deep in FOB territory.

This is a great stereo mount. Very versatile - with a small riser you can accommodate virtually all of the coincident and near-coincident stereo pickups. And the price is spot on!

Happy taping!
