Thanks Guys,  I just updated to 2.15 and have correspondence into SD to discuss the HPF glitch.

Great to have a resource like this around.

Ned, if you need ANY help with ANYTHING on the 722, please fell free to PM me with ANY questions. I know thus bugga inside out and can mostd ef help you with anything you need help with ;)

Make sure 2.15 is actually installed and go to the menu, the last or second to last item in the menu says 'version history' or something liike that. check and see if it reads 2.15 or not :)

Ned, If you dont have Wavelab 5.01b, you must get it ;) I would do ALL of your low-end controlling in POST in WL 5 and I just use the multiband compressor plugin under the VST plugins I believe, and just go from there. its simple as HELL and you can control the bass and add bass/mids/treble with teh EASINESS in there. it seems to do the job without finding specific frequencies and just cancelling them out :) I think you could do it no problem, and once you learn to do it once, its cake from there!

Any questions just PM me bud ;)

My usual plug:  if you're looking for a powerful WAV editor that's inexpensive, sounds great, and has a broad feature set, consider Samplitude SE ($50), instead of the far more expensive WaveLab.

I'm on firmware v2.03.

Keep your gain on the lower side and I think you will like the results.

For amplified shows I run low gain, mic in, no limiter.  I shoot for levels only occasionally hitting the first red -12dBFS.  If I see it hitting the first red regularly I'll dial it back a little between songs.

I was really reluctant to try the HPF.  But the TLs even though I love them for the $$$ just don't have the detail of the higher end SDs probably most people that own 7xxs are typically running.  So a couple of weeks ago for the Waybacks I ran the 40/12 filter, set the levels the same, and was happy with the results.  Did not step all over the bass, but I think the sound was a little cleaner.  Will definitely run the HPF for Ratdog this weekend.

I ran the 722 kind of hot for one show - no clipping in the waveforms, but the next time out I went back to conservative levels.  You can always add gain in post.
