Thanks for posting this again.  Do these little brushes will fit inside female XLRs?

You can also get 99% iso alcohol online, which I use for computer part cleaning and is less of a concern around electronics with the lower water content.  For audio connectors, I like Caig D5.

Speaking of XLRs: does anyone know of a tool like this, but made to clean male XLR plugs?

I have larger brushes for XLR-Female cleaning (large black brush shown in kit image below), but using a trimmed acid brush or similar works OK for plugs.
NOTE: Alcohol over 0.5-1.0 Oz banned from mail & air shipping, only via ground.
I'm also a long time fan of Caig Labs products.]

I switched from Caig to MG Chemicals Super Contact Cleaner a few years ago and am happy with it.
Edit: Also, the floss/brush thing is a great idea. Thanks.

Checking back in to say thanks to Guysonic for posting this.  I just picked up a pack of the Wide Proxabrush cleaners, and went through all of my connectors using them with Caig D5.  These brushes are perfect for everything from 3.5 mm jacks down to female XLRs.  The only thing I couldn't get them into were female TA4 connectors.  One brush held up enough to go through all of my gear.

One suggestion: When spraying the brush with cleaning fluid, do it over a shot glass to catch the overspray.  This means that if you work quickly before it evaporates, you'll have fluid that you can keep dipping back into without having to re-spray.  If you use a larger glass, the fluid will evaporate too quickly.  Waste not, want not and all that.

My M10 has been making a lot of racket. Sprayed some standard CRC contact cleaner in the jacks. Bad idea? Didn't seem to help
