Title: JB3 or iRiver120?
Post by: skotdee on February 04, 2009, 11:06:50 AM
I keep a UA-5/JB3 around for a sbd rig... Thinking of switching to an iriver120 instead of the JB3 to save some space. I've never used an iriver, but love my JB3, anyone whos used both have a preference? Advice?

Thanks!

Iriver hands down! you won't look back.

1. Rockbox: 30 sec pre-recording, better meters and recording screen, safety clip, customizeable font size etc etc...
2. Smaller
3. Fairly clean gain up to +20dB if you choose to go analog in
4. Recognized as USB device on any computer
5. Cheaper/more versatile battery options (the expensive proprietary cells for the JB3 annoyed the hell out of me. I know there are third-party options nowadays, but it's still a factor to consider)

All this said, a routined taper can still achieve the same results using a JB3 as bit bucket. It's just easier with a H120.

IRiver, Rockbox.  There is one in the YS for $110, get it NOW before it's gone..

I went from one HiMD to two NJB3s. I loved them but I slowly rotated to two h120 irivers and haven't looked back. The iRiver trumps the NJB3 without question, IMHO.
