MR-1 - which 1-bit format should I use?
« on: May 04, 2009, 09:49:30 PM »
Just starting to use my Korg MR-1 a bit more.  Which 1-bit format should be used under which circumstances?
I normally use linux for my post-processing, but will have to run things through audiogate first, anyhow. Just
wondering if there are advantages to the different 1-bit formats offered on the MR-1.

Thanks,

scot

I think most people would say DSD.

I'm a linux user too... and I've been running it in PCM mode and happy with it.  Someday I'll get around to installing Audiogate on the wife's computer.

I use WSD as it is an open standard.  But if you want to play back in DSD u might want to use DSF (Sony's format) -> You can make a DSD DVD using DSF files and playback with the PS3, etc

Also note that you can always convert between formats using the Audiogate software.
