Manfrotto Stile Bella VI bag
« on: May 06, 2012, 12:10:20 PM »
Anybody using one of these bags for their gear? I looked at one yesterday and it appears as though it will fit my newly scaled down gear:

(a)  pair of AKG 480 bodies + 61 and 63 capsules (in padded drybox)
(b)  pair of 15' XLR cables
(c)  18" RCA > 1/8" interconnect
(d)  Sony M-10
(e)  clamp

With the moveable padded dividers, I could have the m248 sitting upright and the M-10 resting on its back right next to it.

It's $49 at Best Buy and the same at B&H right now. I'll post pics if I get it.

I love these small bags and my rig would fit perfectly, but one question to you guys... Where do you put your cables? I have been looking to downsize my bag and get rid of my tank but I never have room for my cables. And I have custom GAKables with tech flex and stubbies... still it is too cramped.

Good find at that price!

Think outside the bag.

A carabiner clipped to the side of the bag or through the ring where the shoulder strap attaches has always worked for me. I can't tell from the pics if this particular bag has a place other than the shoulder strap "D" ring but when I used a Nova5 I used a couple of split key rings (available at any hardware or lock shop for <$1) on the loops at the upper back corners by the ends of the zipper to use for an attachment point for the carabiner. Cables readily accessible and clipped outside the bag you still have the full volume of the interior for the rest of your gear.

I need to take another pic to answer that question, but the cables fit under what you see. The M-10 is resting flat on one of the Velcro dividers that I have placed horizontally, which also leaves room directly underneath for windscreens. My clamp fits nicely in the front pocket area, as do a few other essentials (screwdriver, LED, etc.).

Although, I do like the "outside the box/bag" idea floated above.

I keep an extra set of XLR cables and a roll of duct tape on the shoulder strap of my bag.  Got some XLR protecter caps from Louie to protect the connecter ends when on the floor.
