Taping Chris Robinson and Mule on Thurs. at the Tampa Theatre!
Just not too sure how to run things.....
The theater seating is split into thirds, left, right and middle..... well, they have made the tapers sections on either side close to the isle. I'm in the third row, stage left, two seats in....
It seems to me that when I saw Wilco here, I was in just about the same spot, and I was not directly infront of the stage left stack, but pretty much just inside of it, maybe 5-8 ft.
Anyone have any suggestions for how I should set up for this?
I run Oktavas (have all the caps) > UA-5 > JB3
Oh, BTW Tampa Theatre is one of the old Gothic places... really nice, and great acoustics....
Thanks in advance for the insights!

if you want a stack tape, run XY, if you you want an ambient sound, go with a wide din or ortf

what's the point of running x/y at the stacks? Hell, whats even the point of running two mics 5ft. from the the stack, esp. if the pa is drowning out everything else? good luck on the stereo image

Well, I guess I'll just run the XY with the cards.....
I don't know, I figure I'll bring my omnis as well, and if I'm right in front of the stack, I'll just spread them out and point right at the stack.
Does that sound like an O.K. option as well?
